Okay fine, but there are better ways to protect against detection without resorting to injection. So how does Ros-Bot stay hidden, I’ll tell you.

They inject a DLL into Diablo 3 in order to detour a couple of key functions which are critical to detecting Ros-Bot. Such functions could be Windows API functions such as CreateToolhelp32Snapshot and EnumProcesses. The way detouring works is it replaces the first couple bytes of the code with a long jump to their own code, which returns bogus data back to whomever called the function (i.e. Warden, Diablo 3, etc.) Why is this more dangerous, well Blizzard can just look at the first couple bytes of the detoured function, if it finds a long jump or other code consistent with Ros-Bot’s injection, they flag your account for a ban. It’s happened countless times before and even happened to me when I was trying to bypass HOTS’s Anti-Debugging protection. The ban was swift and without mercy.
